ADRA Granted Emergency Award to Support Venezuelan Migrants

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), the humanitarian agency for the Seventh-day Adventist Church, was recently awarded $500,000 by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA)

Second Earthquake Devastates Mexico

ADRA Mexico began early damage assessments in the hours following a 7.1 magnitude earthquake that hit Mexico on September 19. This is the second massive earthquake to hit the country in less than 2 weeks.

Close to 2 million people have been affected by the massive quake, with the death toll already nearing 100. Strong, ongoing aftershocks are adding to the damage and impeding efforts to begin the recovery process.

Harvey Response Continues as Hurricane Irma’s Path Continues

ADRA is responding to Hurricane Harvey in partnership with ACS who are leading the emergency response. ACS is actively responding through their southwestern United States regional office, currently providing hygiene kits, clothing, and cleaning supplies. ADRA is supplying financial support, as well as technical and resource coordination.

ADRA Responds to Flooding and Landslides in Nepal

In response to this widespread destruction, ADRA Nepal has distributed emergency food, shelter resources, and hygiene and femal dignity kits, household items, and bedding to thousands of those affected.

Emergency: Floods in Sri Lanka

ADRA is responding to massive flooding in Sri Lanka that has left 193 dead, 94 missing, and around 100,000 displaced from their homes.

Heavy Snowfall in Pakistan Causing Hunger

Heavy snowfalls have blocked roads in Swat Valley in the province of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, which is causing shortages of food for around 5oo families. ADRA Pakistan is partnering with Caritas who are active in the area and have easy access to the affected community.
