This Father’s Day, ADRA celebrates dignity, resilience, and the right to provide
In the Middle East, where winter’s chill bites deeper for those who are displaced or living in poverty, one father’s quiet determination tells a powerful story about love, dignity, and survival.
Ibrahim is a devoted father of 19 children. For years, he worked as a driver—using his pickup truck to transport goods, earn an honest living, and put food on the table. But in a region facing political instability, economic crisis, and the ongoing impact of displacement, opportunities to earn became scarce. And like many fathers around the world, Ibrahim’s greatest burden wasn’t just financial—it was emotional.
“I didn’t know how I would keep my children warm,” he said. “Even buying milk and diapers had become impossible.”
When ADRA arrived in his community through our winterization and basic assistance project, hope returned. With support from the WARM VII initiative, Ibrahim’s family received fuel vouchers that helped heat their home during the harshest months of the year. The assistance didn’t just bring warmth—it brought dignity. With this lifeline, Ibrahim was able to redirect his limited income to essential needs like food, baby supplies, and school materials for his children.
“This support came just at the right time,” he shared. “We were able to keep the house warm, and the children safe and healthy. We even managed to buy milk and diapers—something we hadn’t done in weeks.”
