After nine months of isolation under occupation, the Ukrainian city of Kherson received its first emergency distribution of humanitarian aid by ADRA in partnership with the World Food Programme.

Five tons of vital aid were distributed to hundreds of households through kits, which included:

  • Canned food
  • Grains
  • Pasta
  • Oil
  • Cookies
  • Baby food
  • Bottles of water

Kherson was on the brink of a humanitarian disaster after being cut off from vital support for so long, and residents met ADRA volunteers with gratitude.

Prior to this food distribution, ADRA helped deliver aid to about 30 settlements in the Kherson region, including the villages of Novomikolaivka, Dudčany, Arkhangelske, and others.

This is only the latest in the ongoing response to the crisis in Ukraine. ADRA’s team in the country has been providing food, emergency evacuation, medical support, shelter, household supplies, psychological support, and much more since the beginning of the crisis.

Outside of Ukraine, ADRA offices throughout Europe have been providing urgent and ongoing support for those fleeing the country.
