Dear ADRA Family,
For the past few weeks, ADRA has been more active on a unified, global scale than we ever have been before. In countries all around the world, we are battling the COVID-19 virus and the disastrous effects of the pandemic.
And, thanks to you, our response is saving lives every day. As we continue to ramp up our work, we continue to improve the health and resilience of communities and individuals in every corner of the globe.
Cambodia is a perfect example. For the past several weeks, ADRA has been partnering with Eco Soap Bank in Cambodia to distribute antibacterial foam hand wash to hospitals, health centers,
government ministries, and various departments engaged in the COVID-19 response. Since March, ADRA has distributed 18,704 liters of antibacterial foam hand wash to 57 hospitals and 142 health centers.
In addition, ADRA continues to work in Cambodia to provide vulnerable communities, hospitals, and health centers with thousands of surgical masks and gloves, COVID-19 related postures, brochures and banners, as well as thermometers and thousands of liters of sterilizing alcohol.
Phano is the public relations coordinator for ADRA in Cambodia, and though he is sheltering in place with his wife and two daughters, he continues to help coordinate the response and communicate with the entire ADRA network. It is because of his tireless effort that we are able to monitor the COVID-19 crisis in Cambodia.
Not only is Phano working around the clock for ADRA, he continues to be present for his family. We asked him how he stays positive and productive, and he had a lot of great words to share. We hope you find joy and inspiration from Phano’s list of how to stay happy and productive, and his favorite Bible verse:
- Stay focused on your work but put more priority on your family.
- Find things that you could do together as a family at home, things you could do together with the kids, like singing, playing music, drawing and coloring, doing exercises together, taking a safe walk outdoors. If you can’t get out, trying something indoors like dancing to music, and playing with the kids.
- Helping each other with the cooking process is fun and involving the kids is a bonus
- Having a family prayer and a kid story at night before bed is a blessing
If we believe in God, there are good bible verses found
in John 14:1-4:“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe
also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have
told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you
also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
I do believe that everything will be alright. I do hope that after the
Coronavirus is gone, people would learn more on how to be healthy and love and
forgive each other more, and care for each other even more. Always stay
positive, be patient, be active, and stay healthy.
Thanks for the encouragement, Phano! And thank you all for supporting the work of ADRA during this difficult time. To join the fight against the COVID-19 virus, please donate today.
