Fast Facts
- India alone is still seeing more than 150,000 new COVID-19 cases every day, and close to 330,000 deaths have been reported.
- Case numbers are lower in Nepal (reporting almost 10,000 new cases per day) and Sri Lanka (reporting around 2,000 cases per day) but both countries’ healthcare systems are not able to keep up with the increased number of patients.
- One of the most critical needs in all three countries is oxygen. Hospitals are running dangerously low, and transport of the resource is difficult due to lockdown logistics.
