Rainwater harvesting initiatives, including catchment tanks and hafirs, support dry season water storage in Sudan. In rural Africa, handpump rehabilitation projects restore access to safe water and build community capacity for long-term operation.

Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) empowers communities to adopt safe practices without subsidies, fostering ownership and sustainability. Market-based approaches generate employment and create sustainable waste management systems that strengthen local economies and protect the environment.
