ADRA integrates health initiatives into multi-sectoral programs to improve lives, strengthen community resilience, and create lasting, multi-dimensional impact. Active in the One Health space, ADRA bridges health, nutrition, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), food security, climate adaptation, environmental protection, and links to agriculture, livelihoods, and education.
We strengthen health systems by collaborating with governments, partnering with the private sector, and digitizing data for better decision-making. Efforts focus on quality, equity, and accessibility, linking communities to primary healthcare (PHC) and frontline facilities.
ADRA emphasizes the mother-child connection, targeting the first 1,000 days with comprehensive care spanning antenatal to postnatal support. Programs integrate RH/FP, nutrition, WASH, and early childhood development, while combating child marriage and promoting healthy timing and spacing of pregnancies.
ADRA leads Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) prevention efforts with community-based programs like “NextGen CELEBRATIONS!” that promote healthy lifestyles through nutrition, exercise, and smoking cessation. We also adapt the WHO’s Package of Essential Noncommunicable Interventions (PEN) to local contexts and deliver basic clinical care and pharmaceutical support in emergencies.
ADRA strengthens detection, prevention, and response to outbreaks like Ebola, monkeypox, and Zika that threaten global health security. Our programs engage communities through infection control, risk communication, psychosocial support, and vector-borne disease prevention. Our Emergency Health Response delivers immediate healthcare support and essential medical services during disasters and conflicts and integrates Health-WASH responses to prevent disease outbreaks.
