Towards Safer Water: A Comparative Study of Two Types of Household Filters in Venezuela
In 2023 and 2024, ADRA Venezuela distributed 2400 PointOne and 300 Ecofiltro ceramic filters to households. The distribution of both filter types, accompanied by a comparative study, was a first of its kind activity for ADRA in South America. Using a mixed-method approach, the study utilized data from household surveys, Compartment Bag Tests (CBTs), focus group discussions, physical inspections, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and interviews with water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) project staff.
