ADRA's Approach to Humanitarianism
ADRA utilizes a comprehensive and community-driven approach across various sectors to address the needs of vulnerable populations worldwide.
ADRA focuses on empowering individuals and communities to become self-reliant and resilient in the face of poverty, disaster, and injustice. Through its work, ADRA strives to provide sustainable solutions by combining emergency relief, development projects, and advocacy efforts. ADRA’s broad range of sectors includes but is not limited to education, healthcare, agriculture, water and sanitation, livelihoods, disaster response, and gender equality. By engaging with local communities, collaborating with partners, and leveraging the expertise of its dedicated staff, ADRA International delivers impactful programs that bring about lasting change and improve the well-being of those in need.

Each year, ADRA serves millions of women, children, and men around the world in some of the toughest, hardest-to-reach places on earth. We implement over 1,200 projects in more than 120 countries and across 9 industry-wide sectors, such as food security, WASH, and agriculture, just to name a few. We divide our work into our foundational pillars: Health, Education, Livelihoods, and Emergencies. Of course, due to the nature of the work, some projects/sectors do fall under one or more of our pillars. Here’s a partial list of some of sectors we work in.
