Continuous rainfall in late July led to landslides in Nepal, which took the lives of 38 people and left close to 1,000 without homes in one district alone.

ADRA Nepal is coordinating with local agencies and government and have already distributed 150 sets of temporary shelter kits to families in the most highly affected areas and will continue to distribute more. The shelter kits include 1 tarpaulin, 2 blankets, 1 mattress, and 1 rope for each family.

There are many challenges when responding to a landslide, including impassable roads, risk of further landslides, and disease outbreak due to dead livestock.
