ADRA Macedonia has collected water, food, and hygiene supplies and is distributing in areas hit by heavy rain and flooding.

This distribution will begin by targeting 1,000 people with the most need but will hopefully expand as more resources are available. There is still a strong need for clothing and ADRA Macedonia will continue to source material donations.

Torrential rains hit the country earlier this month, severely affecting the populated areas and agricultural regions in Skopje and Tetovo. The heavy rain also led to flash floods. In the northern part of Skopje alone, more than 70% of homes have been flooded and families have lost furnishings, personal belongings, food, and infrastructure.

Recent reports set the death toll of these floods at 24, with 1,000 injured.
