North-Eastern Nigeria has become increasingly tense and volatile since June 4, 2014, when the fundamentalist group Boko Haram killed nearly 500 people in the state of Borno.
Менее чем через неделю группировку заподозрили в похищении 20 молодых женщин из деревни Гаркин Фулани, расположенной недалеко от места похищения более 200 школьниц в апреле, сообщает CNN.com.
The insurgency and violence has left more than 5 million people in North-Eastern Nigeria homeless. It is reported that approximately 3 million of these are women and children.
ADRA is already in the country and is planning to soon start providing food for 744 internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have been gravely impacted.
ADRA has also trained 2,000 youth in disaster and emergency management through the ADRA Youth honors program.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
