Paulo Lopes is the President of ADRA International, a global humanitarian organization serving communities in more than 120 countries. He was appointed to this role after more than 30 years of dedicated service within the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA).

With extensive experience in international development and humanitarian leadership, Lopes has worked across multiple countries at both field and executive levels. Prior to becoming President, he served as Regional Director for ADRA South America, where he helped expand large-scale programs focused on poverty reduction, emergency response, and community development.

Lopes has played a key role in strengthening ADRA’s global impact, including leading the development of a strategic framework that guides the work of ADRA’s network of 120+ country offices. His leadership emphasizes innovation, local empowerment, and sustainable solutions that help communities build resilience and long-term stability.

As President, Lopes is committed to advancing ADRA’s mission to serve humanity so all may live as God intended. He continues to guide the organization with a focus on justice, compassion, and love, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive support in times of crisis and opportunity for a better future.

Paulo Lopes has been married to his wife, Edra, for nearly 40 years. They have two adult sons, Lucas and Marcos.

Jair Parada serves as Vice President for Finance at ADRA International, where he leads global financial strategy, compliance, and operational excellence across ADRA’s network of country offices. With more than 27 years of experience in international development and faith-based humanitarian work, Parada is recognized for strengthening financial systems that advance mission impact.

Prior to his current role, Parada served as Senior Director for Finance and Operations at ADRA International. In this capacity, he led major global initiatives, including the rollout of SunPlus and a comprehensive transformation of accounting systems. His work has enhanced financial transparency, improved compliance, and aligned resources with ADRA’s strategic priorities.

Parada brings extensive leadership experience across Africa, Asia, and the Americas. He has managed multimillion-dollar portfolios funded by organizations such as USAID, the Australian Government, the European Commission, and private sector partners. Known for navigating complex environments, he builds high-performing, cross-cultural teams and integrates financial strategy into effective humanitarian response and long-term development.

He holds a Master of Science in Administration from Andrews University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Central America Adventist University. Parada is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and is deeply committed to ethical stewardship, accountability, and service.

Grounded in faith and driven by purpose, Parada’s leadership reflects ADRA’s commitment to serving humanity with justice, compassion, and love.

He is married to Hanlie, and they are the proud parents of two teenagers. Family, faith, and service remain central to his life and leadership.

Teresa Ferreira serves as Vice President for Strategic Engagement & Growth at ADRA International, where she leads global initiatives that strengthen partnerships, expand organizational reach, and drive sustainable growth across ADRA’s network. A forward-thinking executive leader and dynamic growth strategist, Ferreira brings a strong track record of advancing mission impact through innovation, collaboration, and purpose-driven leadership.

Her professional journey spans leadership roles across Adventist Education, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and ADRA, equipping her with a deep understanding of faith-based service, global development, and organizational strategy. At ADRA, she leads integrated approaches to engagement and growth, aligning strategic priorities with emerging opportunities to better serve communities worldwide.

Ferreira is recognized for championing data-informed strategy, cross-sector collaboration, and digital transformation. She applies systems thinking to design agile, future-ready frameworks that support organizational effectiveness and long-term impact. Her work focuses on building meaningful partnerships, strengthening donor engagement, and enhancing ADRA’s global visibility and influence.

Known for her executive presence and collaborative leadership style, Ferreira cultivates high-performing teams grounded in accountability, creativity, and shared vision. She combines analytical rigor with relational intelligence to navigate complex global networks and drive measurable results.

Deeply committed to mission and ministry, Ferreira views humanitarian service as a living expression of the gospel. Her leadership reflects ADRA’s commitment to serving humanity so all may live as God intended, advancing work rooted in justice, compassion, and love.

Thierry Van Bignoot serves as Vice President for Sustainable Development at ADRA International, a role he assumed in 2026. With extensive experience in emergency management, humanitarian response, and international development, Van Bignoot brings a strong track record of leading complex operations and strengthening systems that support vulnerable communities around the world.

Over the course of his career with ADRA, Van Bignoot has held several key leadership roles, including Associate Regional Director for Programs and Planning in ADRA Asia, Senior Emergency Management Advisor at ADRA International, and Country Director for ADRA Yemen. His work in these roles has contributed to advancing disaster preparedness, improving emergency response coordination, and supporting long-term development initiatives in high-risk and fragile contexts.

Van Bignoot is recognized for his expertise in disaster preparedness, disaster response, and incident command management. He has led and supported humanitarian operations across diverse regions, working closely with local teams, governments, and partners to deliver effective, timely, and accountable assistance. His leadership emphasizes the development of strong systems, best practices, and operational protocols that enhance both immediate response and sustainable impact.

In his role as Vice President for Sustainable Development, Van Bignoot focuses on integrating humanitarian response with long-term development strategies, ensuring that ADRA’s work not only meets urgent needs but also strengthens resilience and promotes sustainable change.

Imad Madanat serves as Vice President for Humanitarian Affairs and Excellence at ADRA International, a role he assumed in 2025 following more than a decade of leadership within the organization. He was originally selected as Vice President for Humanitarian Affairs in October 2023, after serving as Vice President for Programs since 2013.

A seasoned humanitarian leader, Madanat brings extensive experience in international development, emergency response, and program management. Throughout his tenure with ADRA, he has played a key role in strengthening program quality, expanding operations into new countries, and overseeing diverse portfolios of innovative, impact-driven projects.

Prior to his executive leadership roles, Madanat served as Senior Program Finance Manager and Country Finance Director in Yemen, where he gained critical field experience managing complex programs in challenging humanitarian contexts. His work has contributed to improving operational effectiveness, financial oversight, and program delivery across ADRA’s global network.

With a strong background in both program leadership and financial management, Madanat is known for integrating strategic vision with operational excellence. In his current role, he leads ADRA’s global humanitarian strategy, supporting high-quality emergency response and development programming that serves vulnerable communities worldwide.
