Emergencia

Your support means that urgent resources are ready, and often prepositioned, to reach areas in need as quickly as possible through ADRA’s global network and partners whenever disaster strikes.

For more than 40 years, ADRA has stood with the most vulnerable—saving lives, restoring dignity, and helping communities recover stronger. Each year, our emergency response projects provide life-saving food, water, shelter, healthcare, hygiene support, and cash assistance to people affected by disasters, conflict, and displacement. Grounded in humanitarian principles and global standards, ADRA’s network of over 115 country offices enables rapid, coordinated action in response to crises.

Preparedness is central to ADRA’s approach. Through the National Emergency Management Plan (NEMP), every office strengthens its ability to anticipate risks, organize resources, and respond quickly. The NEMP ensures clear procedures for planning and coordination, allowing teams to take swift and effective action.

Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) further expand ADRA’s capacity. Comprising trained staff, volunteers, and church representatives, ERTs can deploy locally or internationally when a country office is overwhelmed. Regular global trainings equip members with essential skills in proposal writing, logistics, coordination, and humanitarian standards.

ADRA also promotes a “cash-first” approach, enabling households to purchase what they need most. This preserves dignity, increases flexibility, and supports local markets as communities begin recovering.

ADRA’s response does not end with the emergency. We stay to help communities rebuild homes, restore livelihoods, and prepare for the future. This long-term commitment means that recovery is sustainable and communities are stronger when the next crisis comes.
