TUDIENZELE

Descrição geral do projeto

The Tudienzele project is a five-year multi-partner project that supports the achievement of food, nutrition, and economic security in Kasai province in the DRC through several integrated interventions and collaboration with other projects.  The project target areas include four health zones of Kamonia, Tshikapa, Kanzala and Kamwesa in Kasai province.

The project aims to sustainably improve the food, nutrition, and economic security of vulnerable households living in Kasai province.

Tudienzele aims to sustainably improve food, nutrition, and economic security (FNES) among vulnerable households in Kasai, DRC. Tudienzele signifies “Let us work together for ourselves” in Tshiluba, the primary local language spoken in the target health zones. The project pursues two strategic purposes: strengthened livelihoods and increased incomes, and improved utilization of quality food among vulnerable people.  These purposes are to be achieved through several strategies, including: increased usage of credit;  increased access to credit and capital by farmers and entrepreneurs; increased sustainable agricultural production;   improved maternal, infant and young child nutrition behaviors; and improved water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)

Tudienzele is implemented by a consortium composed of ADRA as the prime and the following sub-awardees: Action Contre la Faim (ACF), Adam Smith International (ASI), Johns Hopkins University-CCP, and local partner  Femmes Main des la Main pour le Développement Intégrale (FMMDI).
