We have been living in crisis for at least a full week\nnow\u2014much longer for some of us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
How are you? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This is not a rhetorical question. It is literal and\nsincere. Take this moment to pause, breathe deeply, and consider your feelings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you feel uncertainty, anxiety, and even fear, you are not\nalone. That is a natural reaction to the ongoing global health crisis. If you\nwonder about the status of your job, your school, the education of your\nchildren or grandchildren, the state of the economy, or the health of your\nloved ones, you are not alone. We are all in a similar position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It is a position Glorimar knows well. In 2017, Hurricane\nMaria destroyed her home and community in Puerto Rico. One day she had house.\nThe next day it was a pile of rubble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe saddest thing was to see the house,\u201d Glorimar said.\n\u201cI\u2019m not sure I can explain it. The feelings are so strong. It was just so\nawful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, ADRA was one of the\nfirst agencies to arrive to Villa Cristiana. The team on the ground assessed\nthe community needs and identified Glorimar as being among the families least\ncapable of recovery. They began construction on her house in February of 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Today, Glorimar is back in a secure cement home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe always find ways to keep going on,\u201d she said. \u201cIt is a\nlong, hard process, but with the help of God and ADRA, I am faithful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n I pray that during this national emergency, you remain\nfaithful like Glorimar.
