{"id":9785,"date":"2019-09-09T12:17:17","date_gmt":"2019-09-09T12:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adra.org\/?p=9785"},"modified":"2026-04-22T14:08:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T14:08:17","slug":"statement-adra-halts-operations-in-bangladesh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adra.org\/pt\/statement-adra-halts-operations-in-bangladesh","title":{"rendered":"Declara\u00e7\u00e3o: ADRA suspende opera\u00e7\u00f5es no Bangladesh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The following statement is in response to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhakatribune.com\/bangladesh\/rohingya-crisis\/2019\/09\/04\/bangladesh-bans-two-ingos-for-financing-running-anti-repatriation-campaign-among-rohingyas\">a Dhaka Tribune story<\/a> that was published alleging ADRA&#8217;s involvement with a recent anti-repatriation rally at a Rohingya camp in Cox&#8217;s Bazar, Bangladesh. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Ag\u00eancia Adventista de Desenvolvimento e Assist\u00eancia (ADRA) no Bangladesh suspendeu as suas opera\u00e7\u00f5es no pa\u00eds, na sequ\u00eancia de uma notifica\u00e7\u00e3o oficial do Governo do Bangladesh, que alega que a ADRA esteve direta e indiretamente envolvida no apoio a uma recente reuni\u00e3o em massa num campo de refugiados Rohingya em Cox's Bazar. Consequentemente, a ADRA tem estado em contacto com funcion\u00e1rios do governo para obter esclarecimentos sobre a situa\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ADRA denies any wrongdoing and remains committed to cooperating with the authorities in order to resolve this situation as soon as possible and resume its role as a Site Management Support (SMS) agency in southern camps on Cox\u2019s Bazar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ADRA is committed to the principle of neutrality. As a result, ADRA does not engage at any time in controversies of a political, racial, religious or ideological nature. Furthermore, ADRA ensures that any partnerships with other organizations are anchored by this principle so that humanitarian aid can be delivered based on need alone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ADRA, which has been present in Bangladesh since&nbsp;1981, is a non-governmental organization registered with the Government of Bangladesh\u2019s NGO Affairs Bureau. It focuses primarily in development projects in the areas of Education, Resilience, Rehabilitation and Development, Emergency Response, and Economic Development. Over the last four decades, ADRA\u2019s primary thrust in Bangladesh has been to provide resources and opportunities to vulnerable individuals and families in rural areas, enabling them to be self-reliant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Cox\u2019s Bazar region, ADRA is a primary actor supporting the Government through the Office of the Refugee, Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) and the Camp in Charge (CIC) to provide life-saving support to the refugee crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sobre a ADRA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Ag\u00eancia Adventista de Desenvolvimento e Assist\u00eancia \u00e9 o bra\u00e7o humanit\u00e1rio internacional da Igreja Adventista do S\u00e9timo Dia.
