{"id":5747,"date":"2016-04-15T16:10:06","date_gmt":"2016-04-15T16:10:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adra.org\/?p=5747"},"modified":"2026-01-20T06:21:48","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T06:21:48","slug":"more-rain-brings-more-floods-in-brazil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adra.org\/pt\/more-rain-brings-more-floods-in-brazil","title":{"rendered":"Mais chuva traz mais inunda\u00e7\u00f5es no Brasil"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>ADRA is assisting around 500 families with emergency food after flooding has forced them from their homes in Brazil.<\/h2>\n<p>Abnormal heavy rains in recent days\u00a0has caused the\u00a0level of the Jaru River to rise, leaving\u00a0485 families homeless in Jaru, Rondonia, about 290 km from Porto Velho.<\/p>\n<p>These displaced families are in need of food, and ADRA&#8217;s response is the distribution of food baskets to all affected families.\u00a0ADRA is working with the local government, as well as the fire department to coordinate\u00a0the response.<\/p>\n<p>According to an assessment by the National Water Agency, the Jaru river reached historic mark of 11 meters, three meters above normal, which is highest in the last 20 years. The Company of Water and Sewage Rond\u00f4nia (CAERD) reported that the water supply in the city was stopped.
