As pastor of Pilgrims Seventh-day Adventist Church, Kamara knows about faith\u2014he preaches it, citing Biblical texts as evidence.\u00a0 But now, with his wife and two sons living in one of the worst Ebola hotspots, his own life is evidence, and he clings to those same texts for support.<\/p>\n
\u201cBefore God we are all equal,\u201d he preached.\u00a0 \u201cIt does not matter where you are.\u00a0 It does not matter who you are.\u201d<\/p>\n
For many Liberians who feel the Ebola epidemic is not adequately being addressed, such a message provides comfort.<\/p>\n
\u201cEbola in Liberia is not a Liberia problem,\u201d said Ezax Smith, president of the Liberia Association of Maryland.\u00a0 \u201cIt is a world problem.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are in crisis,\u201d added John Flomo, president of NALAA.\u00a0 \u201cEven if you don\u2019t find yourself in the hotspot, even here in America, we are in crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n
To combat this crisis, The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) continues to provide monetary and logistical relief.\u00a0 David Holdsworth, the Associate Director of Material Acquisitions, spoke at the conference, describing the most up-to-date Ebola response from ADRA.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have partnered with GlobalMedic to ship $92,000 of equipment and supplies,\u201d Holdsworth said.\u00a0 \u201cWe are working with other agencies and the Liberian Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to provide relief.\u201d<\/p>\n
While much has been done to end the worst Ebola outbreak in history, there is still more to do.<\/p>\n
