Cumbre Humanitaria Mundial<\/a> tendr\u00e1 lugar los d\u00edas 23 y 24 de mayo de 2016 en Estambul (Turqu\u00eda). El evento fue iniciado por el Secretario General de la ONU, Ban Ki-Moon, y se centra en un llamamiento a la acci\u00f3n para el cambio mundial.<\/p>\nLa Agencia Adventista de Desarrollo y Recursos Asistenciales (ADRA) Internacional acoge con satisfacci\u00f3n este acontecimiento hist\u00f3rico y apoya sus objetivos de encontrar soluciones pr\u00e1cticas para miles de millones de personas que viven en la pobreza y la crisis.<\/p>\n
Sabiendo que el suministro de ayuda humanitaria para aliviar el sufrimiento es s\u00f3lo un primer paso, hay que hacer todo lo posible para acabar con la necesidad en su origen y permitir un desarrollo sostenible.<\/p>\n
Supervisar las condiciones para anticiparse a las crisis y hacer m\u00e1s hincapi\u00e9 en la preparaci\u00f3n ante las cat\u00e1strofes contribuye a reducir el riesgo y a mejorar la capacidad de respuesta local. Estas iniciativas deben coincidir con los esfuerzos por mejorar la respuesta global a las emergencias de forma coordinada y responder a los resultados colectivos.<\/p>\n
As an international, faith-based organization working in development and humanitarian\u00a0aid, ADRA\u2019s network highlights the importance of investing in local partnerships. These partnerships strengthen the capacity of acting agencies and improve resilience to prevent conflicts, reduce disaster risks, and react adequately in emergencies.<\/p>\n
ADRA considers its holistic approach as a source of providing care, education, health, and welfare services to poor and affected population segments in order to enable them to live in dignity.\u00a0In this context, ADRA recommends an investment in humanity through the empowerment of women and young people organized in institutions, including churches and faith-based entities, and use their potential for positive transformations at the local, national and international levels.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
