Cuando sea."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ADRA tiene la suerte de poder honrar a los refugiados y a todos los desplazados con nuestro trabajo diario. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This seems especially important now as a devastating new record was reached in 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the first time in recorded history, the number of people forced to flee conflict, violence, human rights violations, and persecution has now surpassed 100 million,<\/strong> according to the UN Refugee Agency.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prolonged conflicts and crises in every corner of the world are a driving force behind the drastic increase in numbers of displaced people:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The war in <strong>Ucrania<\/strong> alone has forced 8 million from their homes within the country and across borders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Venezuela<\/strong> is now the world\u2019s second-largest external displacement crisis with 6 million refugees and migrants leaving the country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>700,000 have fled <strong>Afganist\u00e1n <\/strong>while another 3.4 million have sought safety within different parts of the country due to ongoing turmoil.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme for this year\u2019s World Refugee Day is a powerful and poignant one:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>A quien sea. Dondequiera. Cuando sea.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Everyone has the right to seek safety.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Whoever<\/strong> they are, people forced to flee should be treated with dignity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone can seek protection, regardless of who they are or what they believe. It is non-negotiable: seeking safety is a human right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wherever<\/strong> they come from, people forced to flee should be welcomed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Refugees come from all over the globe. To get out of harm\u2019s way, they might take a plane, a boat, or travel on foot. What remains universal is the right to seek safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Whenever <\/strong>people are forced to flee, they have a right to be protected.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whatever the threat \u2013 war, violence, persecution \u2013 everyone deserves protection. Everyone has a right to be safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>World Refugee Sabbath<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>World Refugee Day falls on June 20 every year, and the Seventh-day Adventist Church has designated the Sabbath before as World Refugee Sabbath.
